Apple could release the “widest array” of new devices this year, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Gurman predicts that Apple will release a new iPad Pro this year with the M2 chip. It’s worth mentioning that there was speculation before Apple’s Peek Performance event that the M2 chipset would be unveiled along with some new hardware. But nothing of the sort happened. Instead, the company introduced the M1 chip-enabled iPad Air.
A 15-inch MacBook Air could be launched next year
Ming-Chi Kuo responded to the report after it appeared on the internet. Kuo noted in a tweet that Apple is expected to introduce its 15-inch laptop in the fourth quarter of 2023. It is true that a larger display would use more power, however Kuo says the goal was to use a 30W adapter, just like the one that comes with the MacBook Air. One of Kuo’s last and most interesting predictions is that it might not be called MacBook Air at all.
Since rumors about Apple’s M2 chipset have been swirling on the internet, it seems safe to assume that the refreshed MacBook Air with a 15-inch display will also come with the processor. Even so, Apple may change its strategy with the upcoming laptop. Kuo reports that Apple may remove the word ‘Air’ from this product and rebrand it as a MacBook, which would be the new entry-level Apple laptop for years to come.
