According to Dell, its new Precision 5470 workstation is the world’s smallest, thinnest, and most powerful 14-inch computer. Built around a 12th-generation Intel Core H-series processor, the Precision 5470 is geared towards creators, engineers, and other specialty professionals.
Pricing is to be announced soon, but the 5470 will be available in April with up to 4TB of storage, 64GB of DDR5 memory, and an Nvidia RTX A1000 graphics chip as options. In order to optimize system performance, Dell engineers had to develop a new cooling system.
Dell will also introduce its latest version of its Optimizer software on the Precision 5470, which uses artificial intelligence to learn your work patterns and automatically adjusts performance and battery based on your usage habits. As a result of presence-detection features, the laptop is locked when you walk away from it and unlocked when you return. When you look away or someone approaches from behind, it can also dim the display. Furthermore, you can connect to multiple networks simultaneously – both wired and wireless – so you don’t lose connection as you move around the office.
The Precision 5470 will be joined by several new Latitude business laptops in April, including two more record-breaking models for Dell. A 13.3-inch premium commercial laptop with 16:9 aspect ratio, the Latitude 7330 Ultralight is the world’s smallest and lightest laptop. Also, the Latitude 9430 laptop or two-in-one has the smallest 16:10 14-inch business PC in the world.
As part of the announcement, Dell updated other Latitude 7000- and 5000-series models with new 12th-generation Intel Core processors and introduced the Latitude 3300, a 13-inch laptop or two-in-one laptop with a sub-$1,000 price tag. Dell’s Optimizer software will also be included with all of these models.
