Recently, WhatsApp added six new features to its voice messaging service. Windows and Android users can now test a couple of new features in the instant-messaging app. WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo reported that the Meta-owned messaging app WhatsApp has begun testing a new ‘View Once’ feature for its web version. You can access photos and videos only once, the same feature that is available for WhatsApp phone users. If a user opens the shared media, it will automatically disappear from the chat.
WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp has added the support for view once photos and videos after adding the sticker tab on the desktop application. There was no possibility to open a view once photo or video in WhatsApp Web is earlier because the messages weren’t supported.
It used to show on WhatsApp web for every view once message, “This message cannot be displayed here. Please open WhatsApp on your phone to view it.” However, with the latest WhatsApp beta UWP 2.2212.2.0 update, views once messages are finally accessible on WhatsApp as well.
The WhatsApp pop-up menu will also be updated soon.
WhatsApp is releasing a new feature not just for Web users, but for Android users as well. When tapping a phone number in the chat, WhatsApp for Android beta 2.22.8.11 shows a pop-up menu. This new pop-up menu allows users to directly call the marked number while using the default app or add it to their contact list.
Furthermore, if the number is already in WhatsApp, you will be able to chat directly with the user without saving their number. As of now, WhatsApp users must first save the phone number in their contact list before they can chat.
WABetaInfo confirmed the roll-out of the new pop-up menu for beta-testers while sharing a screenshot of it. Although it has not yet been revealed when other users will be able to access the feature.
