Pubg (PUBG) game’s Developer Crafton (Krafton) has filed a lawsuit against Garena, Apple and Google. Crafton has alleged that Garena has copied the Battle Royal Game Pubg: Battlegrounds in ‘Free Fire Max’. Crafton has also accused Google to host such videos in YouTube, which shows the gameplay of Garena’s Free Fire and Free Fire Max. According to the complaint shared by the Verge, Crafton has filed a lawsuit against the developer Garena of Free Fire and Free Fire Max Game.
Crafton has alleged that Garena has copied her Popular Battle Royal Title. Crafton has said that Garena has earned ‘hundreds of million dollars’ from the cell. Apple and Google have earned good by distributing these games. Both apps are still listed at Apple’s App Store and Google Play Store.
Crafton claims that he took action against Free Fire and Free Fire Max on December 21. First of all, Garena was asked to stop free fire and free Fire Max. Garena refused to do this. Crafton had asked Apple and Google to distend both games on their platform. But these two games are still listed on the App Store.
YouTube was also asked to remove many videos from its platform. These videos are also available on YouTube.
It has also been mentioned in the trial that Garena sold a game in Singapore in 2017. It is said that he had copied PUBG: Battlegrounds. Crafton has mentioned that there was no licensing agreement between the two gaming developers while settling claims.
According to the data of the Sensor Tower shared with the Verge, Free Fire has earned 1.1 billion dollars (about Rs 8,153 crore) in 2021, which has increased by 48 per cent year-by-year. During this period, Crafton earned 2.98 billion dollars (about Rs 22,087 crore), which increased by only 7 per cent of years. This data was told that Free Fire was reaching close to Pubg in case of popularity and earnings.
